All our initial sessions are free of charge, allowing students and families to decide whether they would like to continue with our tuition services. This initial interaction also allows teachers to understand the students’ goals, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and collaboratively develop a personalised teaching plan.
Top Tier Tuition integrates traditional methods of learning, such as using pen and paper, alongside modern educational tools to provide a comprehensive learning experience for your child. We recognise the cognitive benefits of handwriting and offer online teaching options to complement our in-person sessions, enhancing accessibility and engagement.
We strongly recommend scheduling two sessions per week to effectively support your child’s progress. Regular sessions provide consistent opportunities for learning and reinforcement, allowing us to tailor instruction to their individual needs and monitor their development closely.
Our team consists exclusively of fully qualified teachers who bring extensive expertise of the NZ curriculum and professional experience to every tutoring session. They are passionate about teaching and deeply committed to nurturing each student’s academic growth and personal development. Our tutors bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students across a wide range of areas, enhancing the learning experience and helping students feel comfortable and confident.
I have been fortunate to have had exceptional parents, teachers, and mentors who profoundly influenced my life. Their support, guidance, and teachings showed me the immense impact individuals can have on those around them. These experiences fueled my passion for supporting young people in their learning and personal development. Having experienced firsthand the value of having people who genuinely have your best interests at heart, I strive to do the same for others. Classroom teaching enables me to pursue this purpose, and tutoring does too, in a more personalised way.
My primary aim with Top Tier Tuition is to establish a platform offering top-quality tutoring services, empowering young individuals to excel academically, develop personal confidence, embrace a growth mindset, and build resilience to overcome life’s many challenges. Additionally, I aim to provide meaningful supplementary income for passionate fellow educators, ensuring our tuition services maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Originally from Zimbabwe, I relocated to New Zealand with my family in 2004. At 27, I have 5 years of teaching and 3 years of tutoring experience. My education journey took me through Victoria Avenue Primary School, Remuera Intermediate School, and Auckland Grammar School. I went on to study at Otago University and AUT, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and a Master of Teaching and Learning. Teaching and tutoring have been my calling ever since, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
